Our main focus is to UNITE the university with the community. Unite people together, human to human contact, and show the younger generations in need that WE CARE. The central goal is for the participants to discuss issues that influence them or have influenced their lives in a negative way, change misconceptions of the world around them, help them to think pro actively and replace their views with a more positive one, which in return that can help them change their future.

Primarily designed for the members of NAACP and UF students to form a relationship with local community centers that provide assistance for “at-risk” youth. In the 2009 Spring Semester, NAACP’s UNITY program focused on building a relationship between Reichert House (for boys) and PACE center for girls. In doing this, NAACP hopes to advocate for rehabilitation centers and support therapeutic methods used by such places like Reichert House and PACE. UNITY members are active mentors as well as big brothers and sisters to the youth in the Gainesville local community.
